Note to visitors:

Teaching thousands of kids how to escape a fire brings interesting questions of uncertainty about the window. We learned Kids perspectives and strengths are not equal, just as windows have varied difficulties. The bottom line is many kids, elderly and others have trouble opening windows. This overwhelming fact impressed me most when I learned my 6 year old daughter could not open her window during a home fire drill.

That day challenged me personally as a dad and professionally as a firefighter who teaches kids to use the window as a 2nd way out. I knew something had to be done. A real fire is no time to realize that you and or your loved ones cannot escape through the window if necessary.
